As expected, the Eagles have placed cornerback Ellis Hobbs on injured reserve due to a neck injury suffered on Sunday night against the Giants.

The team has announced the move via its text-message service.

The Eagles also have announced that Hobbs’ roster spot has been filed by cornerback Brandon Hughes, who was a member of the Giants’ practice squad.
