Packers running back Eddie Lacy is the Associated Press offensive rookie of the year.
Lacy, who had 284 carries for 1,178 yards this season, was given the award at the NFL Honors event in New York City on Saturday evening.
A second-round draft pick out of Alabama, Lacy had been widely expected to win the award, with Chargers receiver Keenan Allen generally considered Lacy’s closest competition.
Lacy is the first Packer since John Brockington in 1971 to be named offensive rookie of the year.
