Falcons’ line looks fine early against the Lions

falconflag

A banged-up Falcons offensive line is going head-to-head with the fearsome front on the top-ranked Detroit defense. And so far it looks like a mismatch. Just not the way you’d expect.

On Atlanta’s opening drive, it was the Falcons’ line that dominated the Lions, as Matt Ryan had plenty of time to pass, Steven Jackson had holes to run through, and Atlanta marched 80 yards for a touchdown to take an early 7-0 lead.

There was one miscue with a false start penalty that appeared to be attributable to new center James Stone, but other than that, the Falcons’ offense looked great.

Now the Lions’ offense, which hasn’t looked good this year and is playing without Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush, will have to answer.
