Fans keep flooding Darryl Talley with donations

Talley

It’s becoming the modern-day equivalent of the stampede of friends and acquaintances into George Bailey’s living room.

On Thursday, Tim Graham of the Buffalo News told the story of former Bills linebacker Darryl Talley, who has serious health and financial problems in the aftermath of a lengthy football career. Fans of the Bills and Talley’s West Virginia Mountaineers immediately mobilized. Three days later, more than $123,000 has been raised via donations from more than 2,700 people.

“I can’t express enough my appreciation for everyone’s support, thoughts and prayers,” wife Janine Talley told Graham in a follow-up article. “The response to Darryl’s story has been overwhelming and heartwarming. When Darryl and I were interviewed for the story, I never fathomed acts of such genuine kindness from so many.”
