Favre re-joins Oak Grove High teammates

Brad Childress must wait. For Brett Favre, summertime belongs to Oak Grove High.

Favre threw passes at the Hattiesberg, Mississippi high school on Thursday morning, just like he often did last year at this time. Oak Grove coach Nevil Barr told Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that Favre has made occasional appearances ever since the quarterback underwent ankle surgery in May.

“His arm is great like always,” Barr said. “As far as how his ankle is I haven’t heard him say anything about it. We don’t ask him a whole lot on that.”

Barr hopes Favre returns to play for the Vikings, not that there is any doubt on that fact any more. Favre’s return to the high school practice field is yet another transparent step along the way.
