Plenty of people head to Florida when they need a chance to get away from the stresses of home.
It seems that Tom Coughlin and the Giants are part of that group. The Giants are well on their way to getting Coughlin a win in his 300th game as an NFL coach against the team that gave him his first top job at the professional level. They lead the Jaguars 21-3 at halftime, putting them in position for their first win since the fifth week of the regular season.
They’ve looked good across the board on the way to their big lead. Eli Manning is 15-of-19 for 177 yards and a touchdown, Rashad Jennings has run for 64 yards and two scores and the defense forced three-and-outs on the first three Jacksonville possessions.
The centerpiece of the first half was a 19-play, 91-yard Giants drive that spanned nearly 10 minutes of the first and second quarters as they rolled up eight first downs and took a 7-0 lead on Jennings’ first touchdown of the day. The Giants showed total mastery of the Jaguars during that drive, something that never really dissipated over the remainder of the half.
It’s an old feeling for the Jaguars, but it’s been a rare place for the Giants to find themselves this season.
