Gibril Wilson could be done for the year

Though the Bengals put together a solid effort in Friday night’s preseason win over the Eagles, the effort ultimately counts as a defeat when it comes to the most important stat in the preseason.

Avoiding injuries.

Safety Gibril Wilson, signed in the offseason as a free agent, suffered what appears to be a season-ending knee injury, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Wilson, a starter for the Giants in Super Bowl XLII who made big money the Raiders in 2008 and decent money with the Dolphins in 2009, appeared to be headed for the No. 4 spot on the safety depth chart, behind Roy Williams, Chris Crocker, and Chinedum Ndukwe.
