Tight end Jerome Cunningham won’t need any help finding the home stadium of his new team.
It’s the same stadium that his old team called home. Cunningham was waived by the Giants last Friday and the Jets announced Monday that he’s now a member of their roster after a successful claim.
Cunningham had eight catches for 59 yards in nine games for the Giants last season. The Jets waived Adrien Robinson, another former Giants tight end, on Monday.
Tight end is a question mark for the Jets right now. They drafted Jace Amaro in the second round two years ago, but he missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. They have Kellen Davis, Brandon Bostick and Zach Sudfeld on the depth chart as well.
Running back Dri Archer was waived to make room for Cunningham. Archer was a combine star in the 40-yard dash and a third-round pick by the Steelers in 2014, but neither have been precursors for on-field success thus far.
