The University of Southern California is looking for a new head coach and they reportedly have Ravens coach John Harbaugh on their list of dream candidates, which sparked a response on the Ravens website shooting down the possibility that Harbaugh would follow his brother to the NCAA.
That response didn’t include any comments from Harbaugh himself, but he got the opportunity to chime in on Friday after he was asked about interest in moving across the country. His response wasn’t too different than the one the Ravens uploaded earlier in the day.
“I love the Ravens,” Harbaugh said, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. “It’s not a consideration.”
It’s easy to understand why USC would want to hire a coach with Harbaugh’s credentials to end the messy run that has been going on at the school since Pete Carroll took off for the Seahawks. Unfortunately for the Trojans, it’s just as easy to understand why Harbaugh would prefer to stay with a stable organization in Baltimore where he’s had great success over the last eight years.
