Earlier this year, playing against the Lions was your ticket of special teams player of the week honors.

Suddenly, you have to play for the Rams.

Rams punter Johnny Hekker won NFC special teams player of the week honors, the week after teammate Greg Zuerlein did.

According to the league, that’s the first time rookie kicker-punter combos have doubled up.

Hekker averaged 56.9 yards per on seven punts in the win over Arizona, the franchise high for a single game. Three landed inside the 20, and he had a net average of 46.0 per punt.
