Kenny Britt’s hamstring bothering him again

Kenny Britt has gotten off to a terrific start in 2011, but an old problem has returned this week.

Britt was a limited participant in Titans practice on Wednesday because he felt tightness in his hamstring. John Glennon of the Tennessean reports that the Titans called it a thigh problem, but Britt said that it was the hamstring that caused him to take it easy.

“Going out there in that first period of seven-on-seven, it kept on getting tighter and tighter, and it wouldn’t loosen up for me,” Britt said. “I got a little scared so I backed down.”

Britt missed games last season because of a hamstring injury and he was out for most of training camp and the preseason with the same issues. That hasn’t stopped him from catching 14 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns in the first two weeks and Britt said he has been feeling fine until Wednesday. Given the nagging nature of hamstring problems (see Arian Foster for evidence of that), shutting him down was the right call and it is something the Titans need to monitor very closely in the days leading up to Sunday’s date with the Broncos.
