As expected, Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson is playing on Saturday night against the Colts. But despite the best efforts of NBC to knock down reports from Chris Mortensen of ESPN and Adam Schefter of NFL Network that L.T. has a detached adductor tendon, we think based on what we’ve read and heard that Tomlinson can play with the condition. The notion, perpetuated by Chargers coach Norv Turner, that Tomlinson couldn’t walk if he had a detached tendon is simply wrong. Tomlinson could walk, and is walking. And running. And playing. We don’t understand why NBC would want to undermine a potential Willis Reed story line -- unless like other major media outlets NBC can’t bring itself to confess that others beat them to it.
