Texans quarterback Matt Schaub missed practiced on Wednesday after being hospitalized Tuesday night with a “bursa sac issue” in his knee.
Coach Gary Kubiak made the disclosure on Wednesday.
“[He] is doing well, and I expect him to get out this afternoon,” Kubiak said. “Should be here tomorrow, so everything should be OK.”
So will he play on Sunday against the Jets?
“Well, he’s not here today,” Kubiak said. “I’ve got to see where he’s at tomorrow, but I’m telling you I expect him here tomorrow. If that’s the case and he’s doing what he normally does, then you’re damn right he’ll be out there.”
It’s a bizarre situation, to say the least. Whatever the “issue” is, it was enough to result in hospitalization.
Two years ago, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has surgery to remove an infected bursa sac. It’s hard not to wonder whether Schaub has a similar problem.
