It’s been almost over an hour since our last Donovan McNabb update and we started to get the shakes so here goes:
Donovan McNabb’s agent Fletcher Smith said Friday there have been no discussions between McNabb and the Eagles regarding teams he’d like to be traded to.
“If we get to that bridge, we’ll have to cross it,” said Smith to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. (Somebody other than Billy Devaney is on the record!).
“Donovan has been there a long time. I would think they would want to do right by him, reach out, tell him what their intentions are,” Smith said.
We’ve heard some outlets say McNabb has no sway over his destination, but that’s only if the team that wants him doesn’t require a contract extension. Yahoo’s Charles Robinson says the Raiders won’t.
Nothing that’s happened over the last two days has convinced us trading McNabb will be easy. Smith thinks McNabb could still return to the team, despite the drama.
“It can’t be any more difficult than T.O.,” Smith said.
