Donovan McNabb has some influence about where he will play in 2010, but his top choice for a trade destination is a long shot to put it nicely.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that McNabb’s preference would be to be traded to Minnesota if he can’t remain in Philadelphia. A certain number four, however, has first dibs before number five. We wonder if the Eagles would really want to help another NFC contender anyhow.
This news puts an interesting spin on Brett Favre’s annual retirement dance. If Favre shocked everyone and decided not to quit, the Vikings could have another win-now option to acquire.
We just doubt the Eagles can wait that long to make a decision about their quarterback situation.
The same Inquirer report indicates McNabb has reservations about playing for a losing team and that talks with the Rams have “lost momentum” for the time being.
The McNabb speculation, on the other hand, shows no signs of slowing down. It’s like the Jay Cutler story from last year, yet somehow less annoying.
