On Thursday, federal mediator George Cohen issued a nine-word statement regarding the decision of the NFL and the players’ union to extend the deadline of the current labor deal by 24 hours.

On Friday, Cohen more than doubled his output.

“At the request of the FMCS, the parties have agreed to a seven-day extension, ending the evening of Friday, March 11.”

That’s 20 words, an acronym, and a number.

If only the federal government could be so efficient in other matters.
