The Steelers look likely to be without several defensive starters for Monday night’s matchup against the Titans in Nashville.

Strong safety Troy Polamalu (knee), left inside linebacker Ryan Shazier (ankle) and right cornerback Ike Taylor (forearm) are not expected to play against Tennessee, head coach Mike Tomlin said at his Tuesday press conference. Shazier and Taylor are set to miss their second straight games, while Taylor has been out since the third week of the season.

Will Allen started in place of Polamalu in Sunday’s loss at the Jets, with Vince Williams filling in for Shazier and Brice McCain getting the call in Taylor’s spot.

Tomlin also indicated that starting nose tackle Steve McLendon is dealing with a shoulder injury.

The Steelers (6-4) get their bye after playing Monday night. They are a half-game out of first place in the AFC North.
