The Cowboys have won their ninth game in a row while conversely, the Browns have yet to win and the Niners have lost nine in a row. Which streak is likely to end first? Mike Florio and Stats weigh in.

The 49ers were bracing for bad news, and they got it.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, 49ers safety Eric Reid will need season-ending surgery after an MRI confirmed a torn biceps.

The initial reports were not optimistic, on a day when the 49ers fell to 1-9 and also lost cornerback Jimmie Ward to a concussion.

Reid, their 2013 first-rounder, will now enter a contract year coming off surgery. The 49ers had picked up the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, so he has plenty to play for when he comes back.

Even if the team doesn’t the rest of this season.
