NFL takes steps to shut down “My Jesus” T-shirts

It previously has been reported that Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has tried, via his legal team, to end the sale of “My Jesus” T-shirts with the two words arranged to resemble the Jets logo. It previously has been explained that it’s not a fight Tebow should be waging, since the T-shirts in no way infringe on his name, his likeness, or any intellectual property, copyrights, or trademarks he owns.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL has taken steps to stop the apparent infringement against the Jets logo, via a “cease and desist” letter sent late last week.

If the manufacturers of the “My Jesus” T-shirt refuse to relent, the league undoubtedly will take legal action. And the NFL will have a much stronger argument than Tebow.
