NO JAMARCUS FOR RAIDERS

The Raiders won’t have quarterback JaMarcus Russell for Sunday’s home game against the 6-2 Panthers. Russell recently developed knee tendonitis (or tendinitis), which as several commenters have pointed out might have something to do with the weight of the body perched on the somewhat critical leg joint. Andrew Walter will get the start. But Walter won’t have rookie running back Darren McFadden at his disposal. This will be the third straight game that the two-time Heisman runner up has missed with turf toe in both feet, and he hasn’t rushed for more than 42 yards since Week Two, when he shredded the Chiefs for 164 yards.
