Packers linebacker Frank Zombo is finally healthy.
Zombo, who has missed the entire season with a hamstring injury, was activated from the physically unable to perform list today. He is expected to play tomorrow against the Cardinals.
When healthy, Zombo has shown a lot of promise for the Packers. After signing as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan in 2010, Zombo had an impressive rookie year, starting eight games in the regular season and playing very well before suffering an ankle injury that caused him to miss the final three regular-season games and the first three postseason games. Zombo returned for the Super Bowl and had a big game, with a sack and two tackles for loss.
In 2011 Zombo was expected to take a step forward but instead had even more injury problems, with hamstring and shoulder injuries limiting him to just five games. Counting the playoffs, Zombo has played in 20 games and missed 25 games for the Packers. But they’re optimistic that he’ll be back to full speed and ready to contribute over the second half of the season.
