With the Jets not making the playoffs, the terms of compensation for the trade that brought quarterback Brett Favre to New York are complete. Nearly. As Adam Schefter of NFL Network points out, the Packers will get a third-round pick for Favre. The base value of the trade was a fourth-round pick. With Favre playing in more than 50 percent of the team’s offensive snaps, the pick upgraded to a third-round selection. But as Schefter pointed out in August, the Jets will get a seventh-round pick back from the Packers in 2010 if Favre retires after one season with the Jets.
