The Panthers announced Monday that cornerback Charles Tillman won’t play in the postseason after his partial ACL tear became a full one in Week 17.

On Tuesday, they formally brought Tillman’s season to an end by placing him on injured reserve. Tillman joins Bene Benwikere on that list, leaving the Panthers without two of their top three cornerbacks heading into the postseason.

Moving Tillman to I.R. opened up a spot on the 53-man roster and the Panthers filled it by promoting Lou Young from the practice squad. Young first signed to the Carolina practice squad in 2014 and returned there for this season after failing to make the team out of training camp.

Robert McClain and Cortland Finnegan are expected to fill the No. 2 and No. 3 cornerback slots alongside Josh Norman when the Panthers return to the field for the Divisional Round.
