Cornerback Brandon Boykin has found his third team in the last eight months.
The Panthers announced that they signed Boykin to a one-year contract today. A 2012 fourth-round pick of the Eagles, Boykin was traded to the Steelers in August. He hit free agency after the season.
“I’ve watched Carolina and you can’t help but see how successful they’ve been in the defensive backfield with their style of play,” Boykin said. “I knew it would be a really good fit for me.”
Boykin should be the starting nickel corner in Carolina, with Josh Norman the No. 1 cornerback as soon as he gets a contract signed, and Bene Benwikerein set to be the other starter outside.
