The Rams had the first chance at points, but the Panthers converted.

Cam Newton just hit tight end Greg Olsen for a touchdown, giving the Panthers a 7-0 lead at Los Angeles.

This one is setting up as a hard-hitting game, and the Panthers were able to take advantage of a rare miss by Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein. He missed a 55-yarder on his first attempt.

Newton moved his side efficiently, and ran for a third-down conversion as well, as all eyes are on him following a week of talk about whether he’s properly protected in and out of the pocket.
