With Zach Miller and Aubrayo Franklin off the board, only two of our top-20 free agents are still available.

One of them -- outside linebacker Matt Roth -- worked out for the Patriots on Tuesday, according to Mike Rodak of ESPNBoston.com. Roth would be the rare Patriots pickup that the media actually predicted.

We’re a little surprised Roth’s market has been so slow to form. He’s surely seeking a big deal, but there just aren’t many 3-4 outside linebackers that can play all three downs available. Roth could potentially put his hand down in a 4-3 scheme.

A six-year veteran that has played with the Dolphins and Browns, Roth is already well schooled in a Patriots-style defense. We know the Patriots like Eric Moore and Jermaine Cunningham more than most outsiders, but Roth would make a ton of sense for New England at arguably their weakest position.
