Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was banished for 15 games last season for abusing his son, but now that he’s back the team is thrilled with how he looks on the practice field.
Norv Turner, the Vikings’ offensive coordinator, said that Peterson showed up at Organized Team Activities and instantly looked like the All-Pro running back he used to be.
“I’ve been around a lot of these guys a lot of years and he’s one of the top guys I’ve been around,” Turner said. “He just comes out and looks like he hasn’t missed a day.”
Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn said he was surprised by how good Peterson looked.
“He’d been out of football almost a whole year,” Munnerlyn said. “A guy like him, though, I haven’t been around him a year, or six months, didn’t know if he’d come back in this type of shape. The guy is in unbelievable shape, like he hadn’t missed a step, and he’s out to prove a point.”
It sounds like the Vikings think they’re getting an MVP-type player back on the field in 2015.
