Pouncey brothers well enough to sneak some golf in yesterday

Mike and Maurkice Pouncey left holes in their respective lineups when they weren’t on the field last year.

But they were both well enough to get 18 holes in yesterday.

According to Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins center and his Pittsburgh counterpart seemed to be recovering well, since they played in a Dolphins-sponsored charity golf tournament.

They don’t know we’re out here today,” Mike said with a smile. “So I guess they’ll find out in a little bit.”

Of course, the Dolphins knew, it was their tournament. But the Steelers can take some degree of comfort in knowing Maurkice was good.

Maurkice had to have surgery to repair a broken fibula, and though the Steelers brought in veteran center Stefen Wisniewski, they haven’t signed another pure center.

Mike had hip surgery after the season, and expects to be ready for OTAs later this spring.
