Raiders re-sign receiver Andre Holmes

The Raiders phased Andre Holmes out of their offense last season, but they still think he has something he can contribute.

Holmes and the Raiders reached an agreement on a one-year deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The contract guarantees Holmes $1 million and can pay him up to $3 million.

In 2014 Holmes had a breakout season, starting 13 games and catching 47 passes for 693 yards. But in 2015, even though Holmes was healthy enough to play all 16 games, he started only once and caught only 14 passes for 201 yards.

Holmes entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Hillsdale College and bounced around the league with the Vikings, Cowboys and Patriots before finding his place with the Raiders. Now Oakland will be his place for another year.
