Lito Sheppard is heading to Oakland.

The Raiders announced today that they’ve signed Sheppard, a nine-year veteran cornerback, and he’ll be on the practice field in Napa today.

Sheppard spent the 2010 season in Minnesota, where he played in 13 games and started two for the Vikings. In 2009 he started nine games for the Jets, and from 2002 to 2008 he played for the Eagles.

The 30-year-old Sheppard worked out for both the Falcons and the Giants this month, but neither team opted to sign him. Now the Raiders will see how much Sheppard has left.
