A potential head-coaching candidate with prior NFL experience is reportedly on the Lions’ radar.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions “have interest” in Seahawks assistant head coach/offensive line coach Tom Cable for their head-coaching vacancy.
Cable, 49, was 17-27 as the Raiders’ head coach from 2008 through 2010. He has been on the Seahawks’ coaching staff the last three seasons.
Were the Lions to interview Cable, they would have to conduct the discussion this week with the top-seeded Seahawks on bye.
