Report: Michael Turner not expected to play

Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Eagles, Steve Wyche of NFL.com is reporting.

Turner aggravated his sprained ankle during Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Wyche reports. Turner is listed as questionable for the game. He did not practice this week.

If Turner can’t go, Jason Snelling will get the starting nod at running back and Jerious Norwood will back up Snelling.

Turner first suffered the injury in the Falcons’ Week Ten loss to the Panthers. He missed the following week’s loss to the Giants and was ineffective in limited action against the Buccaneers. The Falcons are hoping a week of rest will have him ready for the December 13 game against the Saints.
