The Packers re-signed linebacker Mike Neal to a one-year contract last March shortly after the start of free agency, but things haven’t played out the same way for Neal this offseason.
Green Bay hasn’t ensured that their 2010 second-round pick will stay put for a seventh season with the team and Thursday brought the first reports of interest from other clubs. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Neal has visited with both the Seahawks and Lions recently.
The Seahawks lost Bruce Irvin as a free agent, which may put them in the market for help at linebacker heading into next season. The Lions are reportedly going to part ways with linebacker Stephen Tulloch, although the move has yet to officially take place and they re-signed Tahir Whitehead.
Neal started 15 games for the Packers last season and gave the defense 36 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble. He has 19 sacks overall and played every game for the Packers over the last three seasons.
