Richard Sherman’s arm becomes immediate focal point for Super Bowl

Sherman

Now that the Seahawks have accomplished one of the most unlikely come-from-behind victories in NFC title game history, an important question will arise regarding the availability of cornerback Richard Sherman in Arizona.

Sherman’s arm got caught up and twisted between a couple of bodies during regulation, and Sherman spent the rest of the game with his left arm bent and clearly impaired.

While it’s one thing to finish the game with the injury (which showed considerable grit from Sherman), it’ll be quite another if the injury requires surgery or results in significant swelling once the adrenaline wears off. And if the team’s opponent in the Super Bowl has two weeks to prepare a game plan for a one-armed Richard Sherman, it will be a lot easier to exploit him.
