Eagles backup quarterback Mark Sanchez says he’s not on the trade market.
Sanchez is aware of talk that the Rams could be interested in acquiring him following the loss of quarterback Sam Bradford. But Sanchez says “nobody who would make those decisions has said anything” to him, and he’s sure that if a trade were a possibility, he would know about it.
“I think they would say something or my agent would say something,” Sanchez said, via CSNPhilly.com. “If those people aren’t talking to me about it, I seriously doubt it’s happening.”
It’s possible that Sanchez is wrong, and those conversations are happening without his knowledge. Especially considering that Rams coach Jeff Fisher has previously acknowledged having interest in Sanchez, and Eagles coach Chip Kelly has acknowledged he would consider trading Sanchez for the right price.
But the Rams have insisted that with Bradford out, they’re committed to Shaun Hill as their starter. So Sanchez will probably stay where he is, backing up Nick Foles.
