Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year Award

That random ESPN2 listing Florio spotted over the weekend was right.

The NFL confirmed Monday that the league’s schedule will be released Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET on NFL Network and NFL.com. ESPN will have their own counterprogramming.

The league also confirmed the Bears and Buccaneers will play in London, as was reported last week. That game will take place on October 23rd.

Like most fans, we’re not really sure how to react to the schedule coming out. Even though we’re confident something will get worked out eventually, it’s hard to get too worked up when we don’t know if the games will actually happen.

The schedule release should be a great day for NFL teams, with the promise of individual ticket sales to come.

Instead it’s just another reminder that both the NFL and its players are discrediting themselves, angling for every last dollar at a time of unprecedented wealth and success. A time in which the interest in their sport is so great they can televise the release of the schedule and millions of people will actually watch.
