Yes, Steve Smith is going off.

But the Panthers are stepping on landmines that have nothing to do with cutting the best player in franchise history this offseason.

The Ravens are handling the Panthers 21-7 at halftime. And most of the attention will go to the fact Smith has five catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns at the break.

But the Panthers are springing leaks all over the place.

Without defensive end Greg Hardy (commissioner’s exempt list) and linebacker Thomas Davis (hamstring), their defense looks pretty ordinary, allowing 291 yards in the first half.

And their last healthy running back, DeAngelo Williams, has been in and out of the lineup with an ankle problem.

The only good news is that Cam Newton is sharp passing the ball, but otherwise, it’s on the verge of getting ugly in Baltimore.
