The Broncos defense will be down a couple of starters for Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
The team ruled out safety T.J. Ward for the second straight week due to an ankle injury. He hasn’t practiced at all since suffering the injury against the Patriots in Week 12, making the team’s decision a pretty easy one.
David Bruton returned to practice on Friday after missing two days because of a knee injury. Omar Bolden has also missed time this week with a hamstring injury, which may lead to playing time for new arrivals Josh Bush and Shiloh Keo on Sunday.
Linebacker Danny Trevathan has also been ruled out as he remains in the concussion protocol after being injured last Sunday. Todd Davis will start alongside Brandon Marshall this week.
There’s good news at linebacker as well with DeMarcus Ware still on track to return from a back injury in at least a limited role after practicing all week. There was also some good news at running back, where Ronnie Hillman was back at practice and coach Gary Kubiak said he “looks fine” to start this weekend.
