If you didn’t know better, you’d think the Texans are looking at quarterbacks.

According to Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com, the Texans conducted formal interviews with Jared Goff, Christian Hackenberg, Paxton Lynch, Carson Wentz and Connor Cook while at the Scouting Combine.

That’s most of them, at least most of the ones worth taking in the first few rounds.

Of course, that makes sense, considering Texans owner Bob McNair has already decreed they need to draft one, and coach Bill O’Brien said he wasn’t in the business of disappointing the boss.

Then again, those five guys represent exactly one-twelfth of the total interviews they could conduct in Indianapolis, with 60 guys getting their 15 minutes with O’Brien.

Then 30 more guys can come to the team facility for individual visits, so they will likely bring them in again for more work.

Picking 22nd, the Texans might not have the ability to land all those guys, but it’s only due diligence to make sure they talk to all of them.
