The Titans waived a veteran cornerback Wednesday and plucked a rookie corner from another club’s practice squad to replace him.
Arriving is Jemea Thomas, who was signed away from the Rams. Departing is Brandon Ghee, who appeared in six games for Tennessee this season, starting one. The Titans announced the roster moves Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Thomas was a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in May. He played three preseason games with New England, then was waived. A Georgia Tech product, Thomas (5-9, 195) had a stint with Dallas before his time with St. Louis.
By joining the Titans for the stretch run, Thomas gets a chance to make a case to be in the club’s plans entering the 2015 season. For 2-10 Tennessee, the on-going evaluation of the roster is one of the most important tasks left in a campaign that will end on the last Sunday in December vs. Indianapolis.
