As it turns out, the Titans were seriously interested in a first-round quarterback who finished the 2008 season with the Broncos. They’ve signed Patrick Ramsey, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, who has written perhaps the most succinct blog entry we’ve ever seen. “The Titans agreed to terms on Friday with quarterback Patrick Ramsey.” Since we’re merely piggybacking off Jim’s work (yeah, Chris, we’ve got eyes and ears everywhere), we’ll elaborate a bit. Ramsey entered the league in 2002 as a first-round pick of the Redskins. He started five games in 2002, eleven in 2003, seven in 2004, and one in 2005. In three years since (one with the Jets and two in Denver) he has appeared in only four games, starting none. Last year, he threw only three passes, completing two of them. In Tennessee, Ramsey joins a depth chart with Kerry Collins and Vince Young. Ramsey will be replaced in Denver by Chris Simms, who spent most of 2008 with the Titans.
