As expected, the Steelers will have to beat the Jets without the help of Heath Miller and Troy Polamalu on Sunday afternoon.

The team announced their inactive players a short time ago and both players were on the list. Miller was able to return to practice on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a concussion against the Ravens, but he was out the rest of the week with symptoms of the injury. Polamalu is dealing with an Achilles injury and there have been suggestions that he will miss the rest of the season.

The Jets will be without starting right tackle Damien Woody again this week. Wayne Hunter will take his place on the offensive line. Starting safety Eric Smith is also out with a concussion. Safety James Ihedigbo, a game-time decision, will play behind starters Dwight Lowery and Brodney Pool. The other Jets inactives are defensive end Trevor Pryce, linebacker Jamaal Westerman, defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert, tight end Jeff Cumberland, defensive lineman Matt Kroul and third quarterback Kellen Clemens.

For the Steelers, Charlie Batch will be the third quarterback. The other inactives are cornerback Keenan Lewis, running back Jonathan Dwyer, tackle Chris Scott, defensive tackle Steve McLendon and defensive end Aaron Smith.
