Vick could be cutting it close tonight

When Eagles coach Andy Reid addressed the intersection between Thursday night’s game against the Jaguars and quarterback Mike Vick’s detour to Virginia for the confirmation hearing in his bankruptcy case, Reid expressed confidence that Vick will make it back to Philly with time to spare.

“He’ll probably miss the one Thursday afternoon [meeting],” Reid said. “But he’ll be here for the game.”

Cue Lee Corso. (Actually, we were looking for a “not so fast, my friend” clip, but that one was better. This one is pretty good, too.)

A source with knowledge of Vick’s travel plans tells us that Vick will take a commercial flight back to Philly, and that “it’s gonna be tight.” (It’s good that Vick is going coach; the guys at The Dan Patrick Show were discussing the irony of taking a private jet . . . to bankruptcy court.)

“If the flight is delayed,” the source said, “who knows if he makes it?”

For now, the weather looks to be fine today in Virginia and in Philly, so the plane won’t be delayed by wind, rain, sleet, and/or snow. But any type of significant slow-down in the process could keep Vick from getting back in time for kickoff.

So, you know, stay tuned.
