Vikings have no love for Love after suspension

DeMarcus Love

In this Saturday, July 27, 2013, photo, Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle DeMarcus Love watches during the NFL football team’s training camp in Mankato, Minn. Love was surprised in April when he found out that he had a performance-enhancing substance in his body, and he was disappointed when his appeal wasn’t approved. On Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, the NFL announced that Love has been suspended without pay for four games for violating the NFL’s policy on PEDs. He is the eighth player whom the NFL has suspended since March for violating the policy. “I was shocked,” Love said. “I’ve never cheated, and I never will, intentionally.” (AP Photo/Charlie Neibergall)

Not every team is welcoming back suspended players with open arms. Some are handing guys a few boxes to put their stuff in.

According to Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com, the Vikings are expected to release offensive lineman DeMarcus Love today.

Love was suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

A 2011 sixth-round pick, Love has yet to play in a regular season game, and he won’t with the Vikings now.
