On Thursday, former 49ers head coach Mike Nolan interviewed with the Packers for the vacant position of defensive coordinator. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that, on Friday, former Jaguars defensive coordinator Gregg Williams got a shot at interviewing for the job. The decision apparently comes down to Nolan or Williams, although Williams could decide to accept an offer (if he has received one) from the Saints. As Silverstein points out, money could be a factor. Williams was being paid almost like a head coach during a stint with the Redskins that ended after the 2007 season. Nolan, on the other hand, has a year remaining on his 49ers head-coaching contract, with San Fran on the hook for the difference between what he was supposed to earn and whatever amount he might earn as a defensive coordinator in 2009.
