As if justifying his $100 million contract at a time when everyone expects him to go soft because of it weren’t enough, defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth’s new coach is writing checks out of Haynesworth’s football account.
“Albert will have a dramatic impact,” Jim Zorn said Thursday.
(We assume Zorn isn’t referring to anything Haynesworth might do while driving a car really, really fast.)
“It may not be seen in tackles or sacks but it is going to be seen in how an offense prepares for us. You are going to see other guys making plays, and you’re going to think they are having a great year, but some of that is going to be Albert creating problems on the line of scrimmage.”
We agree, but only if Albert hasn’t grown soft and content now that he’s gotten the huge payday for which he spent the past two seasons busting his butt in Tennessee.
