Zane Gonzalez converted 3-of-3 field goal attempts in the Falcons’ Week 12 win over the Saints.
Gonzalez hit a 56-yard field goal to open scoring and the Falcons never looked back. He nets a good fantasy scoring day, with three total field goals and an extra point. The Falcons were not in the red zone frequently against a solid Saints defense, leading to the longer field goals from Gonzalez. He will have similar opportunities against a decent Jets defense in Week 13.
  • Falcons signed K Zane Gonzalez, formerly of the Commanders.
Gonzalez is set to be the Falcons’ third kicker of the 2025 season after the team parted ways with John Parker Romo following his Week 9 meltdown against the Patriots. Parker Romo had replaced Younghoe Koo as the team’s starter. Gonzalez last season with Washington made five of his seven field goal attempts and all 19 of his extra point tries. Over six NFL seasons, Gonzalez has converted 80 percent of his field goal attempts. He won’t have much fantasy appeal in Week 10 against the Colts.
  • Free agent K Eddy Pineiro worked out for the Bills on Thursday.
Fellow free agent kickers Zane Gonzalez and Greg Joseph also worked out for the Bills. Incumbent K Tyler Bass struggled last season and dealt with a pelvis injury in training camp. The Bills are likely just covering their bases, but Bass could be a risky fantasy pick at this time.

Commanders signed K Matt Gay, formerly of the Colts, to a one-year contract worth $4.25 million.
Gay will kick for his fourth team since entering the NFL in 2019. He was released by the Colts in early April after making 82 percent of his field goal tries over two seasons with Indy. Gay has been a solid kicker for much of his NFL career, though he has struggled from distance, converting just 61 percent of his field goal tries of more than 50 yards over six seasons. Attached to a high-powered Commanders offense, Gay could have fantasy upside in 2025. Washington had the league’s fourth most field-goal attempts (42) last season.
  • FA Kicker #47
    Commanders released K Zane Gonzalez.
The move comes less than two months after Washington re-signed Gonzalez following his 2024 late-season heroics. He converted five of his seven field goal attempts during six regular season games for the Commanders. Gonzalez, who has played for five teams since entering the NFL in 2017, will likely catch on with another team this summer.
  • WAS Kicker #47
    Commanders re-signed K Zane Gonzalez.
After being sidelined for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Gonzalez caught on with the Commanders late in the 2024 campaign and ended up converting 5-of-7 field goals (71.4 percent) during six regular season games while also going 7-for-8 in the playoffs with one field goal of 50-plus yards. Gonzalez is unlikely to be handed the Commanders’ starting kicker job for next season, but will clearly have a chance to compete for it in camp.

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said he’s not worried a bout K Zane Gonzalez’s hip injury ahead of Saturday’s Divisional Round game against the Lions.
We’ll assume Gonzalez is good to go for Saturday’s game based on this statement. Gonzalez was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice after the team tried out three kickers earlier in the week, and the veteran was again spotted on the practice field Thursday. Including the postseason, Gonzalez has converted on five of his seven field goal attempts this season, which includes a 50-yard field goal he made in last week’s win over the Buccaneers.
  • WAS Kicker #47
Commanders tried out three kickers as kicker Zane Gonzalez (hip) practices in full on Wednesday.
Gonzalez was listed with a hip injury and limited in practice Tuesday, but practiced fully Wednesday. The Commanders still tried out Matthew Wright, Aldrick Rosas, and Tucker McCann at kicker. They are presumably looking for depth on the slim chance Gonzalez is not ready for Saturday’s Divisional Round matchup against the Lions. He kicked the game-winner in the Commanders’ Wild Card win over the Buccaneers and made 5-of-7 field goals in six regular season games. Expect Gonzalez to play; one of Wright, Rosas, or McCann could get the call if he does not.
  • WAS Kicker #47
Commanders K Zane Gonzalez (left foot) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 16 against the Eagles.
Gonzalez returns for what should be a high-scoring game. Kicker-needy fantasy managers could seek out his services though his sparse productivity this season hardly instills confidence. He is a borderline K1/2.
  • WAS Kicker #47
Zane Gonzalez (left foot) practiced in full on Thursday.
Gonzalez remains truly questionable until otherwise stated. He appeared to be ready to play last week but was ultimately ruled inactive despite practicing in full. The Commanders’ Week 16 game against the Eagles should be a fantasy-friendly environment.
