The Washington Capitals will be without forward Marcus Johansson for the remainder of Wednesday’s game versus the Philadelphia Flyers.
Johansson left the game in the first period. The Capitals announced via Twitter during the middle frame that he would not return due to an upper-body injury.
The 25-year-old Johansson had 13 goals and 30 points in 43 games prior to Wednesday’s tilt.

Update from the Washington Post:
After the game, Capitals Coach Barry Trotz said he didn’t know the seriousness of Johansson’s injury, and that he hadn’t yet spoken to the training staff. Trotz also said he thought Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas “stepped up on him. He was cutting across to the middle, and he stepped up and got tangled up.”
