St. Louis Blues show off new jerseys

The St. Louis Blues will have a new look in 2014-15 with a jersey design that clearly takes its inspiration from the team’s style from 1998-2007:

“We’re going back to tradition. It’s certainly exciting to be able to wear these,” said Alex Pietrangelo, per the team’s website. “You can tell it’s going back to the traditional Blues, the history of the Blues. We love to represent that as players.

“I thought they did a great job of combining the old with the new.”

For the sake of comparison to the look that they were emulating, here’s a picture of Keith Tkachuk taken in 2003:

So what do you think? Is putting a new spin on the Blues’ old look an improvement or did you prefer their more recent jerseys?
