How to watch World Figure Skating Championships on Wednesday

The World Figure Skating Championships in Boston begin Wednesday with the short dance, live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra starting at noon ET, and the men’s short program later at night.

In the short dance, U.S. champions Maia and Alex Shibutani and 2015 World silver medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates represent the best American hopes for medals this week.

They’ll go up against a field that includes the last two World champions -- French Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron and Italians Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte -- and Grand Prix Final champions Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje of Canada.

The short dance skate order and highlighted skaters:

Hubbell/Donohue (USA) -- 2:07 p.m. ET
Shibutani/Shibutani (USA) -- 2:40 p.m. ET
Chock/Bates (USA) -- 2:47 p.m. ET
Weaver/Poje (CAN) -- 2:54 p.m. ET
Cappellini/Lanotte (ITA) -- 3 p.m. ET
Papadakis/Cizeron (FRA) -- 3:07 p.m. ET

Later, the men’s short program will begin at 6:15 p.m. ET, featuring the last three World champions -- Spain’s Javier Fernandez, Japan’s Yuzuru Hanyu and Canada’s Patrick Chan.

Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) -- 10:24 p.m. ET will provide live coverage of the men’s short program for subscribers beginning at 6:15 p.m. ET. NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra coverage of the men’s short program will air at midnight ET.
